Explore the “Mainly Layers” palette arrangement in the PaintboxTV Painter X3 Workspace (downloadable by PaintboxTV Premium Members from the Painter X3 Extras download page). This is my “go to” workspace for more complex projects such as collage work where I want to integrate multiple images, many in layers, plus projects where I work with text in Painter, and with dynamic plug-in layers such as the Kaleidoscope layer. Individually these powerful features of Painter such as text and the dynamic plug-in layers, are explained and demonstrated in great detail in my Painter 12 In-Depth series of videos on this site, videos which also equally apply to learning the same features in Painter X3. What is new in the “Mainly Layers” palette arrangement is that I have created and introduced custom shortcut palettes specifically for Collage, for working with text and for working with the Kaleidoscope plug-in layer (including how to save the kaleidoscope patterns you create). In this video I demonstrate some basic photo collage technique, including use of the Reference Layer and layer Mask, using photos from a recent Painter Creativity Workshop photo shoot in a local ballet academy.
