Brush Workout: Getting Familiar with The Juicy Ones!
We’ll start off the day with a brisk Brush Workout – getting familiar with a core set of powerful luscious brushes, and understanding how to control and customize their behaviours.
Loosen Up Your Brush Work: Learn a Versatile & Expressive Photo-Painting Workflow
Learn a powerful and versatile photo-painting workflow that frees you up to be as expressive and loose as you wish to be whilst painting from photo reference.
Going for it with Color: Learn How to Go Beyond Photo-Color in an Effective Way
Practice a simple method of painting with expressive color that successfully communicates tonal contrasts whilst expanding your color range far beyond what is present in your photo.
What you’ll need to bring with you
Laptop computer, Mac or PC, with latest version of Corel Painter X3 installed and a Wacom pen-tablet with latest Wacom driver installed. You can either download a trial version of Painter X3 or you can purchase it (or a bundle with a tablet) via the links on this page: Recommended Tools. I also recommend downloading and importing my latest Painter X3 workspace and extras from PaintboxTV prior to class.
All Levels
This is an all levels class. To get the most out of this class it is recommended, if you are new to Painter X3, that you first familiarize yourself with the basics by following my video tutorials on PaintboxTV.
Fee
The fee for this workshop is US$350, excluding travel and meals. The location is just a couple of minutes walk from Maidenhead Railway Station.
